===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR AUGUST 8th – 15th, 2024 =====
We’re starting to catch-up after a pair of busy weeks on and off the track for MTROC staff. These standings are for the racing last weekend. Also note that I found an error in one of the formulas so a few events we entered last time did not actually get counted. They’re all summed up now and couple drivers got some big bumps as a result.
The big story right now is Dalton Widner being 3rd in Total Points. If he catches Ryan Anderson (currently 2nd in total points) then that would bump Ryan into 2nd place overall and put Tyler Menninga in the #1 spot. Dalton has 10,165 points (without Charlotte) and Ryan has 10,539 so it’s looking very likely. On the other hand, if Dalton can pass both Ryan AND Tyler, then Ryan goes back into #1.
We’re also keeping an eye on the top running independents this year. We’ve got 4 in the Top 10 and another 6 in the Top 20. Unofficially, Jon Zimmer Jr will be either in or close to the Top Ten once we count his big win in Charlotte next update. This has been a great year for monster truck racing!
Thank you to everyone who has helped us with reporting events this week: Brandon Gallie, Mike Bevacqua, J.r. Rouse, Max Gillie, Preston Perez, Zane Rettew, John Brown, Bryan Wagner, Mikeal Christensen, Rob Poutre, Preston Collins, Bill Hess, Logan Smith, CJ Burress, David Rife, Bryan Anger, Pat Paquet, Kirk Nagy, Phil Vicinanza, and everyone who posted videos and photos online!
