===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR APRIL 25th – 27th, 2025 =====

Camden Murphy did his homework and found the speed that others lacked on the muddy track in Philadelphia. He gains a spot to reach 9th place in the rankings.

The Insanity Tour saw Josh Baumgartner and Jacob Ladwig meet up in the finals twice with each driver taking a win. In Huntsville with the Arena West tour, there were 4 winners through 4 events with current World #1 Coty Saucier getting shut out of the finals until the final day of action.

Racing returns to Ebensburg in southwestern Pennsylvania for the first time since 1992 and saw Brett Falvey win his 5th in a row. Meanwhile in Norton, Ohio, Ricky Fowler won his first race on the Monster Truck Wars tour and first overall since May 2023.

We’re missing results from the Monster Truckz tour in Georgia and 2Xtreme Tour in Kansas City so if anyone has those brackets please send them in: there’s still time to count them for points!

4/26 Sat Aft: BRYCE KENNY [Monster Mutt] defeated Ryan Anderson [Son-Uva Digger]

Bryce Kenny was blazing fast in Monster Mutt and picked up his 2nd win of the season over reigning Open Champion Ryan Anderson. That gained him 6 spots in the rankings to reach 14th place which is his highest ranking of the season.

4/26 Sat Aft: BRETT FALVEY [The Haymaker] defeated Ceejay Rettew [Stinger Unleashed]

4/26 Sat Ngt: CLIFF TURNER [Kamikaze] defeated Preston Collins [Velociraptor]

Monster Trucks went side-by-side racing at the Cambria County Fairgrounds for the first time since 1992 as the Renegade Tour made their debut on a muddy drag racing track. This used to be one of our hometown tracks so it’s great to see racing return, although there have been many years of freestyle-only KSR events here during the September fair.

The muddy conditions made traction a premium and balanced out the field, resulting in 4 finalists out of 5 competitors. Brett Falvey extended his winning streak to 5 with the afternoon win, while Cliff Turner closed things out with the night win.

The only other known racing winners in Ebensburg were Allen Pezo in Predator over Gary DeMauro in Towasaurus Wrex back in August 1991, followed by Gary Schram in Psycho over Kevin Dabney in Southern Hustler in 1992. Jim Miller in Barbarian won timed race in 1993.

===== HUNTSVILLE, AL =====

4/25 Fri Ngt: ASHLEY SANFORD [Megalodon] defeated Brianna Mahon [Scooby Doo]

4/26 Sat Aft: WESTON ANDERSON [Grave Digger] defeated Berto Trevino [Monster Mutt Rottweiler]

4/26 Sat Ngt: CARSON WILLIAMS [Earth Shaker] defeated Weston Anderson [Grave Digger]

4/27 Sun Aft: COTY SAUCIER [Dragon] defeated Weston Anderson [Grave Digger]

Tour points leader Weston Anderson made the finals 3 times in Huntsville but had plenty of competition with 4 different winners and 6 finalists this weekend. Ashley Sanford won an all-woman finals on Friday which was her 2nd win of the season and moved her up 8 spots in the rankings. Brianna Mahon remains the top-ranked female driver in 22nd place.

Carson Williams (win) and Berto Trevino (runner-up) scored more points for Team Throttle Monster and each moved up at least 5 spots in the rankings with both drivers now ranked inside the Top 50.

It took until the final race of the weekend for World #1 Coty Saucier to reach the finals but he successful won his industry-leading 29th race of the season. He could be the 15th driver to reach the 30-win mark in a single season.

===== INNISFIL, ON =====

Ryan Como defeated Jesse Como both races in Ontario with the All Out Tour, but we could not score them for points since there was no bracket. This event saw the debut of the new Roboshark body as well as new Bucking Bronco paint scheme. Ryan and Jesse also saw their first times running the tour trucks Outfoxed and Bucking Bronco, respectively.

4/25 Fri Ngt: JOSH BAUMGARTNER [Bigfoot] defeated Jacob Ladwig [Rat Attack]

 4/26 Sat Ngt: JACOB LADWIG [Rat Attack] defeated Josh Baumgartner [Bigfoot]

Josh Baumgartner and Jacob Ladwig met up for the 6th and 7th times this season while racing for the Insanity Tour crown in Kennewick. They split this weekend, but Ladwig continues to lead the season series 5-2. Ladwig is up 7 spots with that win to reach the Top 30.

===== LANCASTER, CA =====

4/27 Sun Ngt: ROB POUTRE [USA-1] defeated Stanley Hernandez [Lone Wolf]

This has been the best racing season that USA-1 has seen in years as Rob Poutre racked up win #23 with the Nitro Tour on a J-turn track in California. Stanley Hernandez has been in the final round in 10 of his last 16 races and has gained 10 spots in the rankings since March.

Bill Payne makes it three-in-a-row for the 2nd time this season. Nick Jones has done that feat twice, as well, but more recently has been the runner-up to Payne these last 3 events.

===== NORTON, OH =====

4/26 Sat Aft: RICKY FOWLER [Sheriff] defeated Aaron Basl [T-Rex]

4/26 Sat Ngt: KALEY ENGSTROM [Shark Attack] defeated Mason Rife [Outlaw]

Ricky Fowler grabbed his first win of the season on a messy drag racing track with Monster Truck Wars in Norton, Ohio. That’s his first racing win since May 2023 in Eagle, Idaho. That’s mostly because he spent a year with the Hot Wheels Tour and was not given a chance to race. This is also his first win with Monster Truck Wars. Kaley Engstrom won her twelfth later that day in a questionable call while racing Mason Rife. The Wars Tours will continue their northern swing with events in Grayslake, Illinois and Allegan, Michigan this weekend.

===== PHILADELPHIA, PA =====

4/26 Sat Aft: CAMDEN MURPHY [Classroom Crusher] defeated Bari Musawwir [Zombie]

Another muddy mess for the Stadium East tour. Tyler Menninga spun out around the second turn in his quarter-final race, hit the freestyle ramp with 3 wheels, and rolled, resulting in an early elimination. Menninga had a 6-race winning streak in January but now has only 1 final round appearance (a win in Indianapolis) in his last 12 events.

Bari Musawwir got back to the finals after a streak of 5 races with quarter-final loses, but came up short to Camden Murphy who took the field to school on how to race fast in mud. Murphy won for the 4th time this season. That gives him a boost up to 9th place and he also has the 5th best Average of all drivers.

===== SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA =====

Hot Wheels Live went outdoors to the National Stadium in Costa Rica and included side-by-side racing! The one event had a unique P-shaped out-and-back course, as well, as trucks had to race on the perimeter of the area to avoid the soccer field. Unfortunately, all of the racing results were scored based on times and not brackets, so we could not score it for points. But we did learn that Travis Groth won three of the four driving V8 Bomber while Eric Swanson took 1 win in Gunkster.

This Wind Vineyard event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded
