===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR OCTOBER 1^st – 19^th, 2025 =====

Here is a huge three-week update for October now that we have our 2025 championship wrapped up. Remember that we will not be posted new standings until January so that drivers have a chance to accumulate points and provide a fairer assessment of the Average Points.

We’ve seen a whole bunch of drivers make their racing debuts this month: Ben Blackburn (Reverse Racer), Geneva Keller (Monster Mutt Dalmatian), Andrew Lane (Gruesome), Collin Robinson (Bearfoot), Andrew Thornton (Bustin’ Loose), and Ryan Vargas (El Toro Loco) who was a high-profile addition for Monster Jam with him coming over from some of the NASCAR tours.

The recaps are a bit shorter this week since there are so many events, but here are some highlights: Alex Bardin and Tim Hall Jr dominated the West Coast Nationals in Red Bluff. Camden Murphy has won twice in three Monster Jam Stadium Events and is way ahead of everyone in Points and Average right now. Jon Zimmer was the only one to beat Murphy so far as he grabbed the win in Syracuse. And reigning Open Champion Coty Saucier was back in Mexico and won 3-of-5 to begin his title defense.

===== CURRENT STANDINGS =====

New standings for the 2026 season will be posted beginning in January. We are still recording results every week but we will not be compiling the points until enough drivers have had time to accumulate at least five events to ensure that the Average Points calculations are fair.

10/4 Sat Ngt: CAMDEN MURPHY [Classroom Crusher] defeated Tyler Menninga [Grave Digger]

Camden Murphy is the first-out-of-the-gate on the Monster Jam circuit for the 2026 Open Championship points race. This was the first time since March 2023 that one of the Andersons did not win racing in Arlington, but that was easy to do since none of them were in attendance this time.

Hot Wheels went racing again! Once again running the unique two-jump J-turn track featuring a short flat-land drag after the turn towards the finish.

10/4 Sat Aft: THOMAS BORDERS [Monkey Business] defeated Caleb Keyes [Subtomic]

Caleb Keyes stunned the crowd by taking the new Subtomic truck into the final round against some solid competition at the International Monster Truck Hall of Fame event, but he came up short against the hard-charging Tom Borders who flew Monkey Business to victory.

For the first time in a while we got to award two brackets in one event! The Insanity Tour ran both a drag racing bracket and a Chicago-style bracket on Saturday night in Hermiston. Since they were each complete brackets, they were each worth points.

Cynthia Gautier ended the 2025 season with 1 win all year but has immediately matched that total by winner her first time out for the 2026 Open season!

Open Champion Coty Saucier started his season in Mexico once again, and while less-dominating that his 2024 appearance in the city, he still picked up three racing wins over the 5-race weekend. Colt Stephens grabbed the other two plus a runner-up finish

The final of four events at The Buck Motorsports Park saw Carson Williams use the fast loser position to return to the field and eventually score a win over Preston Collins in the finals. Last year, Carson won the head-to-head series against Preston 2-1.

Once of the biggest and wildest events of the year for independents is the three-day battle at the West Coast Nationals in Red Bluff. This historic event has been going on for decades and this year it was Alex Bardin and Tim Hall Jr distinguishing themselves on the short and tight U-turn course.  Tim Hall Jr won twice but Bardin was in the finals every day.

Ryan Anderson picked up some early season points as he looks to win his 4^th Open Championship this season. Michael Vaters II has been a consistent winner on the smaller tours but showed that his speed translates to the big stadiums as well as he picks up the Saturday Night win.
