===== WEEKEND RECAP =====

Several teams has long weekends this past weekend with 4 events in 2 days in Wingate and 5 in 3 in Tacoma! Aaron Basl won 3 of those Wingate events for the new T-Rex team and Brandon Vinson took 4 in Tacoma to join the rankings in 6th place. He’ll get a chance to do it again this weekend as the Arena West tour goes for five more in Reno.

Defending Open Champion Tyler Menninga and former Open Champion Ryan Anderson each had Stadium Series wins this weekend, but fans of the independent teams were cheering on Mike Christensen in Vendetta who took out Ryan and brother Adam to win his first Stadium event of the season on Saturday in San Antonio. Cory Rummell was the runner-up to Bryce Kenny on Sunday and gained 21 spots which was the most of any driver this weekend.

In Canada, Carson Williams went on a tear and won all 3 events in Kelowna on the holeshot course. Rod Schmidt, Rod Poutre, and Marc McDonald also had sweeps on the Nitro, 2Xtreme, and Toughest tours respectively.

And it was a textbook lesson from A to Z in Naples, Florida as the All Star tour ran a Z-course in the swamp and the Zimmer family once again took the top spots. Jon Sr and Jon Jr have been in the finals together in 8 of the 9 event this season and will look to continue their domination with the All Stars in Davie this weekend.

Thank you to everyone who reported results to us this weekend: Aaron Basl, Anne Breaud, Nick Davis, Dallas Glenn-Rogers, Carson Williams, Bryan Wagner, Preston Collins, Cameron Tweedy, Nate Bay, Kirk Nagy, Phil Vicinanza, and everyone who posted videos and photos online!

Jon Sr picked up his 2nd win of the season and moves up 7 spots into 21st. Jon Jr won for the 7th time in 9 events and retains his 9th place ranking. Out of the last 18 final round spots, the Zimmers have had 17 of them with only last year’s champion Triton Robbin breaking the streak with his runner-up finish in the season opener in Brooksville. That’s his 2nd win of the season following his strong showing at the West Coast Nationals in Red Bluff, California last October and has him now in the Top Ten.

Adam would get knocked out in the semi-finals by Cory Rummell on Sunday and would end up getting passed in the standings by brother Ryan who went on to win the event. He’ll have a chance to do it again this weekend when the tour moves all the way down to Reno, Nevada for ANOTHER 5-race weekend. Devin Winfield and Tim Hall Jr split seat time in Velociraptor and each made the finals during the weekend. Aaron Basl won’em all except for the first final round when Anne Breaud in Muddy Girl handled the tight Chicago-style course a bit better to get the win.
