===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR SEPTEMBER 10th – 14th, 2025 =====

Two weeks remain in this year’s Open Championship and this is the tightest race we’ve ever had!

A quick recap: Tristan England won on Sunday in Calgary and is in a strong position to win the championship. Tyler Menninga was unable to attend the Calgary race and has slipped the 3rd in the standings. Both drivers will meet head-to-head in Saint Louis this weekend with over 500 points on the line and with England only 27 points ahead of Menninga.

Weston Anderson needs just 1 heat win in Tacoma’s 4 events to earn enough points to knock Coty Saucier off the top spot in the Total Points ranking, and that will be enough to give Tristan England the #1 ranking, at least temporarily. However, if Bill Payne scored enough points over the next two weekends in Placerville and Lakeport, he could in turn knock both Tristan England and Tyler Menninga back down a ranking in Total Points and possibly give the spot back to Saucier. We also have Bryce Kenny now in the mix, because a win in Saint Louis could be enough for him to move ahead of England and Menninga in Average Points, which would also benefit Saucier. And theoretically, Devin Winfield—if he sweeps Rosemont—has just enough points to possibly catch England and Menninga, depending on their performances in Saint Louis.

Right now, Tristan England has his fate in his own hands. If he can win in Saint Louis, then I don’t think even a strong performance from Bill Payne would be enough to knock him out of the #1 spot. His chief objective will be to stay ahead of Tyler Menninga, because if Tyler outscores Tristan in Saint Louis, then even though Tyler might not get enough to pass Tristan in the standings, that might be enough to put Saucier back on top.

Elsewhere in the sport: Mark Andrew had himself a great weekend with the All Stars in Iowa, picking up a big win and runner-up finish against some fast competition. Jon Zimmer Jr won 3 times in Rosemont and will have a chance to play spoiler in Saint Louis as he joins the championship contenders on-track. An upset win for the youngest could even gain him another late spot in the rankings. Brandan Tulachka had two final round appearances and jumped up 9 spots in the rankings this weekend.

We also saw Jim Koehler break his runner-up streak in Canada with a win in Quebec. Tim Hall Jr scored a big win in Calgary with Monster Jam. Donald Epidendio sweeps the Malicious weekend again and continues to climb the rankings. And Monster Jam Ramped Up returned for a second season with Bari Musawwir, Blake Granger, and Brandon Arthur engaging in a tough three-way battle for the concrete crown.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us with reporting events this week: Nick Jones, David Rife, Tucker Rife, Tim Manchester, Bryan Wagner, Stanley Hernandez, Devin Jones, Dave Szatkowski, Matthew Arel, John Brown, Nick Jones, Mike Christensen, Kirk Nagy, Phil Vicinanza, and everyone who posted videos and photos online!

===== NEWLY RANKED =====

None this week

===== BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND =====

9/12 Fri Ngt: BLAKE GRANGER [Megalodon] defeated Brandon Arthur [JCB DIGaton]

9/13 Sat Aft: BARI MUSAWWIR [Black Panther] defeated Blake Granger [Megalodon]

9/13 Sat Ngt: BARI MUSAWWIR [Black Panther] defeated Brandon Arthur [JCB DIGaton]

9/14 Sun Aft: BRANDON ARTHUR [JCB DIGaton] defeated Matt Cody [Grave Digger]

The Monster Jam Ramped Up tour returned for a second year in Birmingham. The racing was one again a bit timid due to the slick floor conditions in Birmingham. The trucks were running shaved-down BKTs on the front axles, but traction was still hard to find. Bari Musawwir won twice on Saturday with Blake Granger and Brandon Arthur both making regular appearances in the finals. The tour moves to Glasgow next and we’ll see what the drivers learned from Birmingham as they head for a second week on the concrete.

===== CALGARY, AB =====

9/13 Sat Aft: TIM HALL JR [Jurassic Attack] defeated Kayla Blood [Sparkle Smash]

9/14 Sun Ngt: TRISTAN ENGLAND [JCB DIGaton] defeated Carson Williams [Monster Mutt Rottweiler]

Tristan England has put himself in a good position to win this year’s Open Championship. His semi-final finish on Saturday and bracket win on Sunday with Monster Jam in Calgary gave him enough points to move ahead of Tyler Menninga in the rankings. When Weston Anderson passes Coty Saucier in Total Points (which could happen as early as Friday night in Tacoma), that will bump England into the #1 ranking on tie-breakers.

However, there are still a lot of pieces in motion. Tristan will still need a solid showing in Saint Louis, because Tyler Menninga is only 27 points behind him! Furthermore, if Bryce Kenny comes in to the Gateway City and wins the event, he could possibly pass both Tristan and Tyler in Average Points, which would knock them both down one spot. And we’ve also got the wild card of Bill Payne who will be earning points independently on the Malicious Tour.

Tyler Menninga was scheduled to race in Calgary but was unable, so Adam Anderson took his ride instead. As a result, Menninga was not able to earn points this weekend, but he still does mathematically have a chance to win his unprecedented 4th Open Championship, but he’ll probably need to win in Saint Louis and then hope to keep ahead of Bill Payne to pull it off.

Tim Hall Jr opened the weekend in Calgary with his 9th win of the season and gained 4 spots which was one of our biggest moves of the weekend.

===== CANNON FALLS, MN =====

9/13 Sat Aft: We do not have results from this event

9/13 Sat Ngt: JEFF MURPHY [Shark Attack] defeated Justin Murphy [T-Rex]

===== C'OEUR D'ALENE, ID =====

9/12 Fri Ngt: JACOB LADWIG [Rat Attack] defeated Tim Manchester [Hillbilly]

9/13 Sat Ngt: TIM MANCHESTER [Hillbilly] defeated Dave Smith [Maniac]

Tim Manchester has had a successful back-half of a summer season. He was 0-4 in final rounds through his first 17 events, but since the long weekend in Del Mar, Calfornia over Independence Day, he’s won 4 of 13 events, and has been in the finals in 4 of his last 5 races.

===== KINGSTON, ON =====

9/11 Thu Ngt: We do not have results from this event

9/13 Sat Ngt: We do not have results from this event

===== LA SALLE, IL =====

This Monster Truck Bash event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded

===== LAS VEGAS, NV =====

This Hot Wheels Live event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded

===== LONDON, ON =====

9/10 Wed Ngt: We do not have results from this event

===== MILWAUKEE, WI =====

This Hot Wheels Live event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded

===== PETALUMA, CA =====

9/12 Fri Ngt: DONALD EPIDENDIO [Titan] defeated Nick Jones [Rockstar]

9/13 Sat Ngt: DONALD EPIDENDIO [Titan] defeated Nick Jones [The Cali Kid]

Another pair of wins for Donald Epidendio on the Malicious Tour. He’s now all the way up to 16th place, having won 16 of his 23 events. Nick Jones was runner-up both nights, first in Rock Star and then in The Cali Kid. Epidendio is 16-2 against Jones this season.

We were expecting Bill Payne to gain some points in Petaluma and play his spoiler role in the championship chase, but Bill was won vacation this week. We’re told that he’ll be back in Rockstar for the next two weekends in Placerville and Lakeport, California. Those will be critically important races because if Bill earns enough points to pass Tristan England and Tyler Menninga in the rankings, he might be able to do enough to give Coty Saucier the championship.

===== PRICE, UT =====

9/13 Sat Ngt: PAUL JENSEN [Jurassic Attack] defeated Dalton Widner [Shell Shocked]

Paul Jensen dusted off the racing suit for a one-time fill-in for the Jurassic Attack team and he showed no mercy on his teammates as he eliminated the rest of the field to pick up the win.

===== REXBURG, ID =====

9/13 Sat Aft: BRIAN LEACH [USA-1] defeated Stanley Hernandez [Lone Wolf]

9/13 Sat Ngt: STANLEY HERNANDEZ [Lone Wolf] defeated Andy Seiver [Boss Gator]

Stanley Hernandez was back in the finals for the 23rd time this season with the Lone Wolf truck and grabbed his 6th win. That moves Hernandez up 4 spots in the rankings

===== ROSEMONT, IL =====

9/12 Fri Ngt: ARMANDO CASTRO [El Toro Loco] defeated Weston Anderson [Grave Digger]

9/13 Sat Aft: JON ZIMMER JR [Terminal Velocity] defeated Weston Anderson [Grave Digger]

9/13 Sat Ngt: WESTON ANDERSON [Grave Digger] defeated Brandan Tulachka [Livin' On The Edge]

9/14 Sun Aft: JON ZIMMER JR [Terminal Velocity] defeated Brandan Tulachka [Livin' On The Edge]

9/14 Sun Ngt: JON ZIMMER JR [Terminal Velocity] defeated Brianna Mahon [Ringling Bailey Circuit]

Jon Zimmer Jr raced his way to 3 late season wins at the historic Rosemont Horizon against a tough field of Monster Jam trucks. He is one of the spoilers in the championship race and he’ll be going head-to-head with both Tyler Menninga and Tristan England on the track in Saint Louis next weekend. If the young gun can upset the field and win in Saint Louis, he also has a chance to gain a spot or two in the rankings.

Another big spoiler for the championship is Weston Anderson. He only won once this weekend in Rosemont, but earned enough points to pull within a mere 53 points of Coty Saucier in the Total Points scoring. Weston only needs to advance through 1 round of racing in Tacoma to pass Saucier, which will then knock Saucier out of his top spot and give the #1 ranking to Tristan England (at least temporarily).

But let’s not forget to talk about Brandan Tulachka, who has two runner-up finishes in Rosemont and gained himself a huge 9 spots in the rankings, returning to the Top 50 with his highest ranking since January 6th.

===== RUTLAND, VT =====

9/13 Sat Aft: AUSTIN MINTON [Bounty Hunter] defeated Dan Dahlgren [Shark Bite]

Kory Kinal got some attention online with his huge exhibition leap over Bounty Hunter during the 2X Live Freestyle in Rutland, but unfortunately he missed out on racing with breakage. Instead it was Austin Minton taking home the checkered for his first win of the season. Dan Dahlgren took second and gained 4 spots in the rankings.

===== SAINT IGNACE, MI =====

9/13 Sat Ngt: CHARLIE PAUKEN III [Uproar] defeated Brett Falvey [The Haymaker]

Fast and exciting drag racing with the Throwdown crew in Saint Igance with two strong-racing young drivers meeting up in the finals. This was the second time that Charlie Pauken III and Brett Falvey had met and Pauken’s win evens the score on their head-to-head series for 2025.

===== SALT LAKE CITY, UT =====

9/12 Fri Ngt: GABE MONTOYA [Misfit] defeated Donny Hebert [Temporarily Insane]

We got to see a bunch of trucks that don’t often run together at the Utah State Fair including the new Subtomic entry from Caleb Keyes. Donny Hebert knows how to handle the tight pole-less Chicago-style tracks, but this night it was Gabe Montoya in Misfit coming out on top, with his 2nd win of the season.

===== SCHAGHTICOKE, NY =====

9/13 Sat Aft: DEVIN JONES [T-Rex] defeated Ricky Fowler [Sheriff]

9/13 Sat Ngt: MASON RIFE [Outlaw] defeated Kaley Engstrom [Shark Attack]

The excitement for the Monster Truck Wars debut in Schaghticoke was tempered a bit by breaking in the first event. Outlaw and Shark Attack sat out broke after qualifying, and Sheriff did not finish his pass in the finals, which gave Devin Jones an easy time in collecting his 23rd win of the season. The crew was back at it for the nightcap, though, and Mason Rife came out on top this time for the 18th time this year.

===== SPENCER, IA =====

9/13 Sat Aft: MARK ANDREW [Wicked Sickness] defeated Nate Kirchner [Dirt Crew Dozer]

9/13 Sat Ngt: EVAN CHANDLER [Block Head] defeated Mark Andrew [Wicked Sickness]

The All Stars had a familiar field of trucks but with some different faces behind the wheel, with Evan Chandler and Nate Kirchner driving Blockhead and Dirt Crew Dozer. Each made the finals once with Chandler winning on the tight Chicago-style track on Saturday night. But it was the independent Mark Andrew stole the show with his best performance of the season, and grabbing his first win since November 2023.

===== TEXARKANA, AR =====

9/13 Sat Ngt: TIM JONES [Tailgator] defeated Corree Labbee [Public Nuisance]

Arkansas has been a winning place for Tim Jones this season. He’s won 3 of his 6 races in the state, and that’s half of his win total for the whole year. In Texarkana he beat out Corree Labbee in their first match-up of the season.

===== VALLÉE JONCTION, QC =====

9/13 Sat Aft: JIM KOEHLER [Avenger] defeated Tyler Davidson [Brutus]

After three consecutive runner-up finishes in Edmonton, Jim Koehler finally had reason to be excited as he beats out Brutus to win for his 2nd win of the season.

===== WAUSAU, WI =====

9/13 Sat Aft: We do not have results from this event

9/13 Sat Ngt: We do not have results from this event

Rod Schmidt in Redneck Rampage won both brackets in Wausau, but we do not know where the other drivers finished and so we cannot award points.

===== WOODBRIDGE, ON =====

The All Out tour once again used a qualifying round to automatically seed trucks into a third-place and first-place race without a bracket, so points were not awarded. But we would like to note Brandan Behan’s debut event and first racing win on Saturday afternoon driving Canadian Crusher.
