===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR JULY 29^th – AUGUST 2^nd, 2026 =====

We have officially entered the final 2 months of racing in the 2026 Open Championship. Current #1 Jon Zimmer Jr scored another win in Holland, Michigan with the Throwdown tour. He also had two events in Grayslake which sadly we do not have results for, so please send them in if you know them.

The Full Throttle Tour had the hammer down this weekend, running between 7 towns in 4 days for exciting county fair drag racing. Roger Gauger drove Bigfoot to the win 3 times, including in a rare Bigfoot vs Bigfoot final round in Goshen, Indiana. William Beck also won the first racing bracket of his career.

In Costa Mesa, Meesha and Eric Swanson took turns in the Pretty Obsessed truck and won 4 of the 5 Kicker National holeshot races. Rob Poutre got the other win and was runner-up 3 more times.

The historic West Lebanon event was swept by Montana Robbins who beat brother Triton in the finals both nights. He now leads their head-to-head series 8-6 and both brothers are now inside the Top 20. The brothers also placed in the semi-finals of the Monster Jam Stadium event in Foxborough, but it was Camden Murphy in the new Power Rush taking the win on a slick and muddy track.

The Full Throttle Monster Truck from Indiana had a very busy week as their summer fair schedule continues running hot into August. Their two crews ran 7 events in 7 towns over 4 days. The racing has been excellent despite all the traveling, with photo finishes at nearly every stop.

Roger Gauger is used to winning with the Full Throttle Tour and he added 3 more this weekend, including a win in the Bigfoot vs Bigfoot final round in Goshen, Indiana on Saturday night. Logan Vessels scored a win and runner-up to continue his strong rookie season. William Beck, son of Jerry, won for the first time in his career on Friday night. And Brandon Overmyer took the diesel-powered American Outlaw past Bigfoot in Rensselaer. He was runner-up in Rensselaer last year and also in 2022.  

It’s not time to rest for the Full Throttle tour just yet. They still have events in Washington, MO; Millersburg, OH; and Urbana, OH coming up next week.

The 2X Live tour continued their northeast Canada trip with three events at Eastbound Speedway with the World Series of Monster Truck Racing. Unfortunately, we only have results from Saturday when Jimmy Creten won his 21^st race of the season. We know that Jimmy also won on Friday and Kory Kinal in Jekyll & Hyde won on Sunday. If you have any more information on the racing brackets from Avondale, please let us know!

8/1 Sat Ngt: PAUL STRONG [USA-1] defeated Corree Labbee [Public Nuisance]

Paul Strong brought USA-1 out for the first time this season with the Monster Truck Bash at the Putnam County Fair in Tennessee. Despite a very slick track, the monsters gave the fans exciting Chicago-style racing. Strong was fast qualifier and beat Sykotic in the first round before eliminating Public Nuisance in the finals.

The Kicker Nationals went holeshot racing at the OC Fair for five events in just three days. Obsession Racing nearly swept the weekend, with Meesha and Eric sharing the wheel of Pretty Obsessed and winning 4 of the 5 brackets plus 1 runner-up finish. Rob Poutre was their chief rival this weekend, winning once in his 4 trips to the final rounds. Caden Morris drove Dragon Slayer (but running the Unhinged body style) to the other runner-up spot.

Eric gained 9 spots with his wins, which was the biggest improvement of the weekend. Meesha joined the Open rankings in 90^th after now getting her 20^th recorded bracket. Poutre also joins the rankings in 42^nd with 9 wins in 21 races.

7/30 Thu Aft: CAMDEN MURPHY [Power Rush] defeated Adam Anderson [Grave Digger]

The Monster Jam athletes were challenged with a slick track in Foxborough this weekend and Camden Murphy in Power Rush managed it the best, picking up his 9^th win of the season. He also improved to 7-2 against Adam Anderson in head-to-head races. Triton and Montana Robbins joined the Stadium regulars from the Arena tour and picked up a semi-final round finish each.

James Owens returned to the seat for just his 5^th race of the season and took the holeshot win over Paul Craighead on Friday night. Saturday was Stanley Hernandez win his 7^th of the season, also over Craighead, who extends his final round appearance streak to 26 events!

Sadly we do not have any racing information from the two Throwdown events in Grayslake, Illinois. This event included Jon Zimmer Jr who is fighting for the Open Championship, so if you know the brackets please share them so we can include these important results!

7/29 Wed Ngt: JON ZIMMER JR [Terminal Velocity] defeated Charlie Pauken III [The Haymaker]

Although we do not have Grayslake, we do have Zimmer’s win in Holland. Throwdown brought out over 30 crush cars for this one, running a giant Chicago-style track over 16 of the cars. The metal mashing was definitely a challenge for the drivers, but in the finals both Zimmer and Chuckie Pauken took care of that by clearing the sets. Jon Jr continued to lead the world in Total Points (13050) and retains his #1 ranking. He is the 6^th driver to reach 13,000 points in a single season.

===== PAINESVILLE, OH =====

8/1 Sat Ngt: KURT KRAEHMER [Hotsy] defeated RJ Turner [War Wizard]

Kurt Kraehmer gets a technical win with Monster Trucks Unleashed in Painesville. Mark Hall won the announced final over Kraehmer but—as far as we can tell—Hall was given a direct bye into the final round which puts him outside of the bracket, so that final round is counted as an exhibition in terms of points. This is his 2^nd win of the year. Kraehmer has 16 recorded events and needs just 4 more to qualify for the Open rankings.

7/29 Wed Ngt: JOSH BAUMGARTNER [Mechanical Mischief] defeated Travis Groth [Double Trouble]

Josh Baumgartner now has 6 consecutive racing wins after beating both Groth brothers at the Healing Horse Ranch in the Fort Berthold Reservation.

Nick Jones moves up 6 spots to 28^th after sweeping the Malicious Tour weekend in Post Falls, Idaho. Jones drove the Rock Star truck for the first time this season and now has 9 wins overall. Gavin Sell has been in 3 consecutive final rounds.

8/1 Sat Ngt: ZACH WINCHENBACH [Crushstation] defeated Brandon Derrow [Bad News Travels Fast]

Lots of close racing with the Versus Monster Truck tour in Ransomville this weekend on a two-jump drag racing track. Zach Winchenbach and Brandon Derrow met up for the first time this season and Winchenbach in Crushstation took the win, giving him 6 wins this year and 4 wins in his last 5 races. He lost some ground in the rankings, however, as a lot of other drivers had equally successful weekends or joined the rankings after having recorded their 20^th racing event.

Dalton Widner win twice in 4 final rounds with his new team, as he moves from Team Throttle Monster to the Garners. He gained 3 spots in the rankings with those wins and is now up to 16^th place. Armando Castro gained 4 spots with his 2 wins and joins the Top Ten in the Open Championship. He is the 8^th driver to win 20 brackets this season. Charlie Pauken also picked up a win (4^th) and runner-up finish and Kayla Blood moved up 5 spots with her first two final round appearances of the season.

===== SPANISH FORK, UT =====

7/30 Thu Ngt: ALEX BARDIN [Rockwell R.E.D.] defeated Mikeal Christensen [Vendetta]

Monster trucks were the prelude to a weekend of demolition derby action in Spanish Fork, Utah, but it was definitely a marquee line-up with four Throttle Monsters on hand plus Obsession Racing. Alex Bardin in Rockwell R.E.D. beat Mike Christensen twice—in the first round and in the finals—to win his 19^th race of the season and maintain his 11^th place ranking. He is currently only 28 points outside of the Top Ten.

===== SPRINGFIELD, MO =====

8/1 Sat Ngt: DEVIN JONES [Barbarian Road Rage] defeated Tripp Jones [Twisted Addiction]

Devin Jones picked up his first win at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds since 2020 as he raced past Tim Jones and Tripp Jones to win the reverse Chicago-style racing. This was his 18^th win of the season.

===== TÖCKSFORS, SWEDEN =====

8/1 Sat Aft: PETER NYMAN [Thor] defeated Örjan Henriksson [Yellow Cab]

8/2 Sun Aft: PHILIP JOHANSSON [Hurricane] defeated Peter Nyman [Thor]

The final two races in Ed, Sweden will be exciting as Yellow Cab and Hurricane enter the event tied and Thor just a few points behind. Oden and Sonic are also still able to win the championship if they can pick up big points. Be sure to check for highlights from the August 29-30 events, or if you’re in Sweden, go check it out! This will be a thrilling conclusion to the 2026 Monsterrace season.

Mark Hall beat Brandon Pezo by a tie in an exciting drag racing final in Urbana. That’s the 4^th win of the year for Hall and his first at their hometown race since 2022.

8/1 Sat Ngt: MONTANA ROBBINS [Plane Krazy] defeated Triton Robbins [Krazy Train]

Coming off his semi-final round appearance in Foxborough with Monster Jam, Montana Robbins flew out of Lebanon Valley Speedway with a sweep of racing, besting 8 other trucks on the fast 3-jump drag track. He beat his brother Triton in the finals both nights, and is now 8-6 against his other brother in head-to-head races this season. This was Montana’s second time winning back-to-back events, the last being back in April in Florence, South Carolina. The points from this weekend moved Montana back up into the Top 20, just 5 spots behind Triton.
