===== WEEKEND RECAP =====

Lots of news this update since we were unable to update last week. The biggest news for points is that we’ve increased our minimum race requirement to 10 races. This will continue to increase until we reach a minimum of 20 sometime this summer. The purpose of the minimum race requirement is because half of our standings are based on average points per race and the rankings are more accurate when we have a minimum on this value. Drivers with fewer than 10 races are currently not ranked, as a result, but we are still tracking their stats and they will be re-ranked once they race the minimum.

Ryan Anderson is dominating on the Stadium West tour. He’s won 8 of his last 12 Stadium event and now 3 in a row to maintain a healthy lead in the Open Championship rankings. Not to be outdone, defending World Finals Racing Champion Tristan England won 3 consecutive Stadium East events and is now up into 4th place. Independent John Gordon had a 4-race runner-up streak snapped but then won on Sunday in Minneapolis to secure his spot in the Top Ten. Camden Murphy and Colt Stephens didn’t pick up any wins, but have been consistently earning points and have also risen to the Top Ten.

Last year on Monster Truck Wars Preston Perez drove Outlaw to a huge number of victories. This year it’s Preston Collins doing the same as he has 5 wins in a row.

Lots more news below since we’ve got two weeks to recap, so keep reading to see who else won.

Thank you to everyone who reported results to us this weekend: Preston Collins, Nate Bay, Lee Collins, Jerry Beck, Tim Jones, Dallas Glenn-Rogers, Nick Wishard, Lee Collins, Rob Poutre, Michael Terleski, Aaron Basl, Bryan Wagner, Bk Moody, Chris Yuhas, Todd Morey, Kirk Nagy, Phil Vicinanza, and everyone who posted videos and photos online!

===== ANAHEIM, CA =====

2/17 Sat Ngt: RYAN ANDERSON [Son-uva Digger] defeated Camden Murphy [Bakugan Dragonoid]

2/18 Sun Aft: RYAN ANDERSON [Son-uva Digger] defeated Camden Murphy [Bakugan Dragonoid]

Ryan Anderson is showing the form that won him two back-to-back Open Championship. He has 3 consecutive Stadium Series wins and 7 consecutive final round appearances. He has points in 15 of his 16 events and has missed the semi-finals only twice. That consistency gives him an almost insurmountable 345 points-per-race which is insane. The next closest is Tyler Meninga at 240 points-per-race, which is already very high.

Camden Murphy doesn’t have the big wins like Anderson so far, but was runner-up twice in Anaheim this weekend and has scored points in all of his races, which has let him rise up to 5th place overall.

Colt Stephens and David Olfert were also consistent in Anaheim and were semi-finalists both days. That puts Stephens inside the Top 10 and Olfert inside the Top 20.

This Hot Wheels Live event did not include side-by-side racing and so points were not awarded.

2/17 Sat Ngt: ERIC SWANSON [Obsessed] defeated Kylie Thurber [Double Trouble]

Eric Swanson picked up his 2nd win of the season and first since October on the tight track in Billings, Montana. The event also saw the debut of Justin Elliott in Free Ride.

===== DU QUOIN, IL =====

2/16 Fri Ngt: CORY SNYDER [Illuminator] defeated Joe Urie [Kamikaze]

2/17 Sat Ngt: JOE URIE [Kamikaze] defeated Tim Hall Jr [Jurassic Attack]

2/18 Sun Aft: CORY SNYDER [Illuminator] defeated Joe Urie [Kamikaze]

It’s been a consistent season for Cory Snyder so far, as he’s been alternating between the semi-finals and victory lane for the past 6 races. In Du Quoin, he won twice on a fast Chicago-style track with Monsters of Destruction. With only 6 scored events, Snyder is not ranked yet, but his 134.67 average would be good enough for the 17th best average overall.

Joe Urie was the only man to make it to the finals every race in Du Quoin. Those points are important since we’re unfortunately missing many of his events this year so far, including results from Hobbs, NM and Amarillo, TX.

===== FAYETTEVILLE, NC =====

2/17 Sat Aft: BRANDON DERROW [Bad News Travels Fast] defeated Faith Phreed [Animal House]

2/17 Sat Ngt: BRANDON DERROW [Bad News Travels Fast] defeated Faith Phreed [Animal House]

===== GLEN ROSE, TX =====

2/10 Sat Aft: PRESTON COLLINS [Outlaw] defeated Adam Wilson [Sheriff]

2/10 Sat Ngt: PRESTON COLLINS [Outlaw] defeated Adam Wilson [Sheriff]

The Monster Truck Wars team debuted a new Outlaw truck in Glen Rose and had it running crisp right out of the box. Preston Collins now has 10 wins in his past 12 races including 5 in a row. That’s got him up to 11th place. Adam Wilson also had a great weekend in Glen Rose as he picked up his first two final round appearances of the season. He would eventually reach a 4-race final round streak.

===== HOUSTON, TX =====

2/10 Sat Ngt: RYAN ANDERSON [Son-uva Digger] defeated Adam Anderson [Grave Digger]

Adam Anderson had this race won going into the final turn, but the front driveshaft failed him and sent the truck into an uncontrolled spin which let Ryan slip by for the win. Ryan holds the head-to-head lead 6-1 this season.

Colt Stephens has had 4 semi-final appearances and a win in his past 5 Stadium Series events which has let him rise up into the Top Ten.

2/17 Sat Ngt: PRESTON COLLINS [Outlaw] defeated Adam Wilson [Sheriff]

===== MINNEAPOLIS, MN =====

2/17 Sat Aft: TRISTAN ENGLAND [JCB DIGatron] defeated Cole Venard [Black Pearl]

2/18 Sun Aft: JOHN GORDON [Bad Company] defeated Bryce Kenny [Great Clips Mohawk Warrior]

Three Stadium Series wins in a row for defending World Finals Racing Champion Tristan England and now he’s up into 4th place. Jamey Garner eventually ended the streak on Sunday afternoon, but it was another independent—John Gordon—who would get the headline that day. Gordon had a four-race runner-up streak broken in Tampa but has earned points in all of his races this season. Finally in Minneapolis against Bryce Kenny (who returned on the break rule for Cole Venard) Gordon broke that runner-up streak for good with a Stadium Series racing win. He has the 5th best average of all drivers and is now ranked 7th overall.

===== MOUNT OLIVE, AL =====

2/10 Sat Aft: JON ZIMMER JR [Terminal Velocity] defeated Jon Zimmer Sr [Uproar]

Jon Zimmer Sr’s 4-race winning streak gets broken by perhaps the only one who could do it: his son. Jon Zimmer Jr had gone nearly a month without a win but got back on top with the All Stars in Mount Olive. Jon Sr has an eight-race final round streak going on and has missed the finals only once this season. Both Jons are easily inside the Top 20.

===== ODESSA, TX =====

2/16 Fri Ngt: We do not have results from this event

2/17 Sat Ngt: We do not have results from this event

We are still searching for results from Odessa. We know that Tim Jones won on Friday and Jack Brown won on Saturday, but we need runner-ups and semi-finalists (at least) to award points.

===== OKLAHOMA CITY, OK =====

2/17 Sat Aft: DALTON WIDNER [Jurassic Attack] defeated Matt Cody [Grave Digger]

2/17 Sat Ngt: MATT CODY [Grave Digger] defeated Tony Ochs [ThunderROARus]

2/10 Sat Ngt: FERNANDO MARTINEZ [El Toro Loco] defeated Brandan Tulachka [Just Get-Er-Done]

2/11 Sun Aft: ALEX BARDIN [Stone Crusher] defeated Brianna Mahon [Scooby-Doo!]

There was some wild racing in Pittsburgh! Weston Anderson started the weekend winning the first two races. This was the 2nd racing weekend in a row that he had done this, and he repeated the feat the following weekend in Worcester. That has him up to 6th place overall. Rookie Fernando Martinez won his 3rd race on Saturday night, and Alex Bardin—who dominated the Monster Truck Wars tour last season—finally broke through with his first Monster Jam Arena Series win of the season in Sunday afternoon.

===== SASKATOON, SK =====

2/16 Fri Ngt: BILL PAYNE [Rock Star] defeated Marvin Anderson [Identity Theft]

2/17 Sat Aft: We do not have results from this event

2/17 Sat Ngt: MARVIN ANDERSON [Identity Theft] defeated Jared Vogel [Crude Behavior]

Marvin Anderson continues to run strong after so many years in the sport and he picks up another win in Saskatoon on the tight Chicago-style track.  We still need the Saturday afternoon brackets.

===== TAMPA, FL =====

2/10 Sat Ngt: TRISTAN ENGLAND [JCB DIGatron] defeated Bryce Kenny [Great Clips Mohawk Warrior]

2/11 Sun Aft: TRISTAN ENGLAND [JCB DIGatron] defeated Todd LeDuc [Megalodon]

Tristan England started his 3-race winning streak in Tampa, Florida, putting the new JCB DIGatron truck into the winner’s circle both brackets. Defending Open Champion Tyler Menninga—who had won 9 of his previous 11 events—failed to make the finals in Tampa, settling for a semi-final round and quarter-final loss. He would end up with the same results the following weekend in Minneapolis. Prior to this four race stretch, he had not gone more than 2 events without a racing win this season.

A little variety in the Monster Truck Wars wins in Williamston. Michael Hawkins picked up the first win for Team Outlaw over Aaron Basl. With Basl out on Saturday night, Paul Breaud got a cameo spot driving Sheriff and won his first event of the season. Basl was back on Sunday to picked up his 11th win of the season.

2/18 Sun Aft: BRANDAN TULACHKA [Just Get-Er-Done] defeated Brianna Mahon [Scooby-Doo!]

Once again, Weston Anderson started the Monster Jam Arena weekend with back-to-back racing wins. He beat out Jamie Sullivan who returned from her injury break and still maintains a Top 25 ranking. Closing out the weekend was Brandan Tulachka who won back-to-back events for the first time this season.

===== YOUNGSTOWN, OH =====

2/9 Fri Ngt: JACK BROWN [Dirt Crew Dozer] defeated Daron Basl [Block Head]

2/10 Sat Ngt: DARON BASL [Block Head] defeated Tyler Groth [The Veteran]

Last but not least we had the Toughest Tour in Youngstown, Ohio where the Dozer/BlockHead rivalry continued for another week. Each driver picked up a win on tour and would have met in the finals both nights except for Jack Brown knocking down a turning pole in the Saturday night semi-finals which let Tyler Groth in The Veteran move on instead.
