===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR FEBRUARY 28th – MARCH 2nd, 2025 =====

We’ve had more lead changes this season than any previous year. Coty Saucier won twice in Portland and is back into the #1 rank. He has also reached 20+ wins for the first time since the beginning of the Open Championship in 2019. He previously had 19 wins twice.

The Robbins and Zimmers dominated a five-race weekend at the historic Rosemont Horizon outside of Chicago with Triton Robbins begin the biggest winner. His 4 finals and 2 wins helped the Krazy Train rise into the Top Ten in the world.

Dennis Anderson made another cameo in a 2Xtreme racing bracket and won, but he wasn’t the only veteran Anderson winning races as Marvin Anderson won 3 of the 4 races in Edmonton with the RAM Spectacular and joins the rankings in 27th.

Rob Poutre, Daron Basl, and Jerry Furjater each had multiple wins this weekend. Bari Musawwir won the big Stadium race in Orlando and is now a mere 2 points behind Tyler Menninga for the Monster Jam Stadium East points lead. Out west, Tristan England won once in 2 races in El Paso to maintain his series points lead. Jerry Beck added a win in Saginaw to take the points lead on the Toughest Tour.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us with reporting events this week: Bradley Shaw, Brian Manson, Brandon Gallie, Ben Wimp, Preston Perez, Mark Werner, Bk Moody, Bryan Wagner, Andrew Thornton, Kirk Nagy, Phil Vicinanza, and everyone who posted videos and photos online!

Jimmy Creten’s winning streak grows to 7-in-a-row after beating out Kory Kinal in Arizona. Creten’s Bounty Hunter had engine problems in the night so hall-of-famer Dennis Anderson got the call in Extreme King Sling to join the bracket and he won for the 2nd time this season! Kaley Engstrom has been in the final round 22 times this season, which is the 2nd most of all drivers behind only World #1 Coty Saucier’s 24. Fifteen of those showings have yielded runner-up points for Engstrom, including both events in Dothan this weekend. Aaron Basl and Mason Rife each took a win, which made each of them two our biggest improvers for the week. Basl gained 6 spots and Rife gained 4 spots.

The Monster Truck Wars South Tour also saw a minor change in the line-up as Ricky Fowler joined the tour driving Sheriff on his Texas Outlaw chassis. Justin Murphy is now running Sheriff on the North Tour.

He’s been in the finals in 5 straight Stadium events and 7 of his last 8, and has placed in the semi-finals or better in SIXTEEN consecutive Stadium events. His only times not appearing in the final four were the first two events of the season in Anaheim.

Bryce Kenny moved up 4 spots with his final-round appearance on Saturday night. Current Open Champion Ryan Anderson beat out England by over a truck’s length for the win on Sunday. Of England’s 15 heat loses this season, Anderson has given him 8 of them!

3/1 Sat Ngt: JERRY FURAJTER [Shark Attack] defeated Devin Jones [T-Rex]

It was a tight turning course in Martin and Jerry Furajter figured it out best. That follows last weekend in Levelland when he was runner-up in all three events. Devin Jones had the 2nd place sweep this time. Justin Murphy joined the North Tour after beginning the season with the South Tour and is still driving his Sheriff truck.

Stanley Hernandez took the Lone Wolf into three final rounds and was the 2nd biggest improver this week as he gained 6 spots in the rankings.

===== ORLANDO, FL =====

3/1 Sat Ngt: BARI MUSAWWIR [Zombie] defeated Dalton Widner [Jurassic Attack]

Apparently Bari Musawwir is one of those modern-day fast-moving zombies as he’s been racing towards the top Monster Jam Stadium East tour and is now only 2 points behind Tyler Menninga for the series lead. He has won 3 of the last 5 Stadium races, although he ended up losing ground in the Open Championship because Tristan England and Jon Zimmer Jr had great weekends themselves.

Dalton Widner beat Tyler Menninga for the 2nd time in 7 tries in the semi-finals to advance to his 7th final of the season and is now right behind Musawwir in the Open Championship rankings. Menninga still has the best Average of all drivers at 226+ but has lost the top spot in the rankings to Coty Saucier as the two continue to exchange blows week after week.

Coty Saucier reaches the 20-win plateau for the first time in the Open Championship as his 2 wins in Portland give him 21 wins overall which is the most of any driver so far this year. Saucier previously had won 19 races in both 2022 and 2023. The 2023 season also saw Saucier finish as the World Runner-up. Currently, however, he is back to the #1 rank after this wins.

Weston Anderson faced three first round loses in Portland before his win on Sunday and lost a spot in the standings. Ashley Sanford made the final round for the third time this season and gained 4 spots in the rankings, making her one of the biggest improvers of the weekend.

3/2 Sun Ngt: TRITON ROBBINS [Krazy Train] defeated Fernando Martinez [El Toro Loco]

The highest-rated tour in the sport went to the historic Rosemont Horizon for a long and challenging five-race weekend. It was an independent bonanza with the Zimmers and Robbins dominating the event. Despite only one final round, Jon Jr still gained 2 spots in the rankings as the five-race weekend have him a lot of points. In fact he has the 2nd most Total points of all drivers with 4830, just ahead of Ryan Anderson and Tyler Menninga. Father Jon Sr also had a win (his 5th of the season) and he is now inside the Top 25.

Montana Robbins won his 4th event on Saturday night over brother Triton, but Triton ended up being the biggest victor of the weekend. After two runner-up finishes, he closed out Sunday with back-to-back wins, earning 1080 points and moving into the Top Ten in the world.
