===== WEEKEND RECAP FOR AUGUST 4th – 13th, 2025 =====
Throwdown had a huge two-night race in Fowlerville with some of the best racers in the sport. Jon Zimmer Jr—fresh off his win in Charlotte last weekend—won the first night over rival Triton Robbins, and started Saturday as quick qualifier and with a first round win before breakage during the Skills competition knocked him out. Instead it was David Olfert in Dirt Crew picking up the win and 8 spots in the rankings.
Monster Jam got back to brackets with events in Newark and Sacramento. John Gordon has a less-rewarding trip to Charlotte than Jon Zimmer Jr, so he was fired up for his return to Monster Jam action in Newark and posted a win and 2 runner-ups through the 4-race weekend. However it was Brianna Mahon winning the weekend with 2 wins. That moves her up into 21st place and she is far-and-away the highest ranked female racer of the season.
Shane Oblen in Webslinger saw his first career racing action this weekend, and after some trouble with the starting lights in Augusta, New Jersey on his first time, he came back with two huge racing wins. First he beat Brandon Derrow—a super tough east coast racer—on night 2 in Augusta and then bested RJ Turner later in the week, both of drag racing tracks.
Marvin Anderson took another win in his long career and joins the ranks just outside of the Top 50. Brandon Gallie only has 7 reported events and is not ranked, but he swept the All Star Tour weekend in Grass Valley. And the Monster X tour was way way down south in Nicaragua where Byron Cadigan and Paul Craighead squared off three times. There were some other highlights but you’ll have to read them below.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us with reporting events this week: J.r. Rouse, Joe Foley, Mark Werner, Preston Perez, Donny Hebert, Lee Collins, Max Gillie, Bryan Wagner, Chris Yuhas, Nate Bay, Byron Cadigan, Robert Wojcik, John Brown, Jessup Pelkey, Andrew Thornton, Dawson Rayas, Bryan Anger, Kirk Nagy, Phil Vicinanza, and everyone who posted videos and photos online!

Brandon Derrow was was fast as usual in scoring his 13th win of the season on Tuesday night. ===== FOWLERVILLE, MI =====
8/8 Fri Ngt: JON ZIMMER JR [Terminal Velocity] defeated Triton Robbins [Krazy Train]
8/9 Sat Ngt: DAVID OLFERT [Dirt Crew] defeated Jon Zimmer Sr [Uproar]
Monster Truck Throwdown absolutely threw it down in Fowlerville (midway between Detroit and Lansing) with a huge 15 truck field and exciting 4-jump J-Turn racing! Four trucks were saved for freestyling, and only 8 of the 11 qualifying trucks advanced to the bracket, but with highly-ranked drivers (1.081 on Friday and 1.125 on Saturday) still resulted in events worth over 300 points.
Jon Zimmer Jr and Triton Robbins met up many times on the Monster Jam Arena tour this season and they saw each other in the Friday finals on a slick track. Triton came into the night with a big 15-4 advantage over Zimmer Jr in head-to-head racing, but it was Zimmer—riding high from his huge win in Charlotte last weekend—who got this one.
The track dried up on Saturday and the times improved. Jon Zimmer Jr was fast qualifier and won his first round race, but broke a four-link bar during the two-wheels skill competition between rounds and could not continue. Jon Zimmer Sr picked up the flag for the family and got Uproar into the final round, but a tight turn caused him to run over the turning tire and turn the truck over, letting David Olfert drive by for his 5th win of the season.

He is now tied for 4th-most wins in a single season with Preston Collin’s campaign last year. The top 3 all-time are Derick Anson (66), Donny Hebert (40) both from 2022 with Monster Truckz, and Tyler Menninga’s 38 wins during his championship season in 2019.
