Congratulations to DALTON WIDNER for his 7th place finish in the 2025 Monster Truck Racing Open Championship! Dalton has had a rapid rise in the rankings since his 2021 rookie season when he finished 103rd. He quickly moved up to 35th, 16, and 8th last season. He has had 4 consecutive 10+ win seasons.
Dalton seemed to come out of nowhere when he won the Toughest Tour championship a few years ago, but he is not running and winning on the top Monster Jam tours and just debuted the awesome-looking Shell Shock’ed truck earler this summer.
Driving Jurassic Attack, Widner picked up two wins in Nampa, Idaho and a runner-up finish in Houston, Texas to close out the 2024 calendar year. The Stadium Series started in San Diego and was a bit of a dud for Team Triceratops, but Widner won the next 3 consecutive weeks in Anaheim, San Antonio, and Houston. That was 3 wins in 4 races in late January, a feat he repeated in late March with wins in Louisville, Birmingham, and New Orleans. He also had a strong semi-final appearance at the Monter Jam World Finals in Salt Lake City.
As a member of the independent Team Throttle Monster, Widner also had a summer schedule where he picked up more wins. He won the 10-truck bracket on a wild and punishing asphalt course with the Overdrive Tour in Bristol, Tennessee, and won on the long and technical track when Throwdown made their debut in Salinas, California. Widner then ran against his Throttle Monster teammates on the Militia Tour and grabbed wins in Cortez, Colorado; Spanish Fork, Utah; and Watford City, North Dakota plus the one-off MEGA event in Helena, Montana.
Dalton Widner entered the Top Ten after his 3 wins in January and stayed there through the rest of the season. He had a number of big wins this year with 5 Stadium Series wins plus the marquee events at Bristol Motor Speedway, Salinas Sports Complex, and one inside Freedom Hall. He’s going to have a tough time in 2026 as he competes on the Stadium West tour against the likes of Ryan Anderson, Tyler Menninga, Bari Musawwir, Bryce Kenny, and Zack Garner. But those events will also bring lots of potential points and could help Widner reach even higher into the rankings.
