Congratulations to COTY SAUCIER for winning the 2025 Monster Truck Racing Open Championship! This is Coty’s first Open championship and it was the closest finish we had ever had! He took the top spot by just 60 points, which is an incredibly small margin when you consider that the average round of racing this year paid out over 70 points. That means Coty won exactly enough heats to claim the #1 rank.
Coty was runner-up in the Open Championship twice prior to this season. He did it first in 2020 where he had the highest Average and likely would have won the championship during the COVID-restricted season except if the Bloomsburg and Indianapolis Jamborees had included racing that year. This 269.87-points-per-race Average from that season is the third highest all time behind only Ryan Anderson. Coty was also runner-up in 2023 when he finished with his then-highest Points total at 9369 and recorded his second consecutive 19-win season.
He began his season south of the border where he won 4 of 5 events in Mexico City and then swept all 4 events in Puerto Rico. He stayed hot to start the first quarter with the Monster Jam Arena West series by winning 2 in Salt Lake City, 2 in Reno, and 3 in Tacoma. Wichita, Kansas and Albuquerque, New Mexico were the only two stops on tour where he did not win, but he did make the finals 3 times in those cities. He had a 13-heat winning streak twice. His longest losing streak was a mere 3-heats in Reno in mid-January. He also recorded his 150th career Monster Jam racing win on March 23rd in Tucson, Arizona.
Coty and Weston Anderson faced each other 32 times during the season with Weston narrowly winning the series 17-15. Coty was 14-8 against Devin Winfield, 12-1 against Berto Trevino, 13-1 against Ashley Sanford, 16-1 against Brianna Mahon, and 12-1 against Tim Hall Jr.
Coty Saucier has worked his way up in the sport from fan to mechanic to driver and has built a strong fan base along the way, so we know that there will be lots of people elated to see him finally win the Open Championship. And he did it in the most heart-stopping way we could have imagined with the outcome not decided until the final race of the season! Congratulations again to Coty Saucier, the 2025 Monster Truck Racing Open Champion!
